The Walcotts
The Walcotts
Dr John and Tom Waits spend a night drinking together somewhere between New Orleans and Los Angeles. A great cross-pollination of R&B, Soul and Country -No Depression

"If you are missing the music of Levon Helm, look no further" -L.A. Record

Armed with a large lineup, the Los Angeles-based band — whose membership includes two singers, a horn section, a fiddle player, a pedal steel guitarist, a pianist, and a rhythm section — take inspiration from more than a half century's worth of American traditions. The result is a sound that nods to the Band's folk-rock, Little Feat's swampy jazz, Bruce Springsteen's heartland anthems, and everything in between. It's broad, big-sounding music, with the Walcotts swelling their lineup to as many as nine members during their acclaimed live shows.

The name, of course, is a reference to The Band's "The W.S. Walcott Medicine Show," a 1970 tune that paid tribute to the traveling medicine shows of Levon Helm's youth. For a group that proudly wears its influences on its sleeve, though, the Walcotts aren't some revivalist band, stuck mimicking the retro sounds of an era that's long since past. Instead, they make roots music for a modern age, with songs that spin stories and melodies that take aim at the heart as well as the head.

Formed in 2012, The Walcotts began spreading their music through multiple TV and film placements, while also earning a well-deserved rep as one of the West Coast's best live bands. Opening dates with Honeyhoney, Steve Windwood, and Chris Isaak came first, followed by a West Coast tour with Chris Stapleton in 2015, mere days after Stapleton swept the CMA Awards. Live, the Walcotts bring the nuances of their recorded material to life, with every show building upward toward an explosion of horns, organ, guitar and dual vocals.

The Walcotts will continue building upward in 2016, when their full-length debut — featuring co-writes with John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer) and some co-production by Ross Hogarth (John Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge) — is released.
Honeyhoney
Honeyhoney
HoneyHoney is a Los Angeles based indie-bluegrass/rock band. Suzanne Santo and Ben Jaffe are the core duo.
Ted Russell Kamp
Ted Russell Kamp is an LA-based bass player, singer/songwriter and producer.

Ted writes, records and travels the world performing his own country / roots / Americana music from his seven critically-acclaimed albums. Ted also plays live, records sessions, and collaborates on songs with A-list songwriters and musicians in Nashville, Austin and around the world. Ted recently built a new studio — The Den — and has already produced several well-received albums for fellow artists.

Ted is well known for his ability to step into bands and rock all genres of music — the decades he spent holding down the bottom end for bands as diverse as Shooter Jennings and Wilson Phillips made sure Ted had the chops for anything from major festivals to David Letterman appearances.

The last few years have found Kamp focusing on his own career. He tours continuously in the US and Europe, and has releasing his solo albums to critical acclaim. His records have debuted at #1 on the Euroamericana Chart and made the US Americana Chart's Top 100 Records of the Year. The Big Takeover wrote, "Kamp simply knocks one ball after another out of the park…Saturated in talent and sincerity … good music done right."

This Jack of all trades points to Dave Stewart and Buddy Miller as role models, in the sense that they move so seamlessly between the roles of sideman and frontman while supplying both substance and glue to every project they take on.

"The biggest challenge," Ted says, "is always to be myself and express myself while still supporting others. Bringing in traditional elements is a way to make the music classier and more timeless, in my opinion, whether it's to enrich my own music or to make anything I'm part of as great as it can be."
Calico the band
CALICO the band is three: Kirsten Proffit, Manda Mosher, and Aubrey Richmond. All are great and dedicated musicians, each with accomplished and celebrated solo careers under way. That is, until Calico brought them together. As powerful as each is individually, an undeniable magic occurs when all three come together. It's at the heart of their debut album, Rancho California, which is replete with singularly strong songwriting chops, rich harmonies, and a pervasive Americana passion. Like the expansive spirit of Laurel Canyon that spawned so many famous bands and artists, now comes this new spirit, rooted in the vast valleys and canyons of L.A.

Formed in 2013, CALICO the band started touring right away performing over 200 shows a year, which led to receiving National Touring Artist of the Year for the Los Angeles Music Awards in 2013. They're known for their electrifying shows deemed "jaw dropping" by Neil Portnow, President of The GRAMMYs. Their debut album Rancho California released in September of 2014 on California Country Records, LLC distributed by Smith Entertainment Group which garnered Americana Album of the Year for the 2014 Los Angeles Music Awards.

The stars aligned in 2012 when three A-list musicians from the San Fernando Valley -- Kirsten Proffit, Manda Mosher, and Aubrey Richmond -- joined forces to create the new trio Calico. … The big showcase track of the album, "Runaway Cowgirl,' is a finely crafted vision of the American dream with soaring harmonies and dynamic melodic runs from Richmond's fiddle. This is the type of tune Nashville should be begging for. - Rick J. Bowen, No Depression
Runson Willis III
He never misses a note. With over 10 years of experience with the guitar combined with his extensive performing and touring record, Runson Willis III is finally ready to embark on his solo career. The Los Angeles based artist, calls on his idols, Isaac Hayes, Aretha Franklin, Woodie Guthrie and Willie Nelson as constant reminder of the level of greatness he is working toward. With roots in the deep south, you can hear the soul in every lyric he sings and note he plays. Runson is geared up and ready to bring his music to the world! From his own words:

"this guitar is noisy, beat up and it may have a lot of scratches on it. But it's true, it's lasted a long time and it hasn't gone anywhere. And I think it's like me."
