POLARTROPICA
POLARTROPICA
POLARTROPICA makes crystal-cool, dreamy, orchestral electro/synth pop that will tickle your ears and imagination. The debut EP Astrodreams is set to be released on Lolipop Records (cass) on March 29, 2016! Intertwined within the "swirly burst of dreamy reverie" (Free Bike Valet) are themes of isolation, injustice, heartbreak, and corruption - all set under the glittery futuristic synths and classical string arrangements.

Combining her love for classical, pop and indie rock music, Ihui Wu (keyboardist for Sanglorians, Simone White, Ghostel) holed up in her tiny cottage in Highland Park and wrote the songs together with fellow music lover and friend Roman Salas. The songs were recorded with Silverlake-based producer C.M. Rodriguez over one of the hottest summers in California. With the help of many talented musicians, including Morgan Paros on violin, Joe Santa Maria on saxophone and Lauren Elizabeth Baba on viola/violin, the vision for Astrodreams came to life!! Come away to a distant land where macarons grow on trees, fuzzy baby flamingos nap in the warm sunshine and glitter clouds line the sky!

Inspired by sparkling mineral water, Totoro, Quentin Tarantino, James Bond and Aaliyah, POLARTROPICA is Ihui (eeway) Wu, Graham Chapman, Andrew Lessman and Alexander Noice and super secret special guests!!!
Crown Plaza
Crown Plaza is the new side project of So Many Wizards' frontman Nima Kazerouni. After ending his relationship with his sweetheart of 6 years, he left his cozy apartment in the middle of LA and took an unusual residence at his father's back office in the heart of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Nima was free to record and write music as he pleased but the bright hotel light of Crowne Plaza was a 24 hour-a-day reminder of where he was, along with the buzzing noises of airplanes, shuttles, and passers by. These ultimately caused a reaction that was too great to keep inside. Nima needed an outlet to channel these feelings directly, and he needed to do it alone. His debut E.P., Chem Waves Volume 1, is a direct reflection of his love loss, displacement, and overall new way of living. The music shows another side of his musical personality blending electronics with Nima's signature dream pop ethos.
Batwings Catwings
Batwings Catwings
Amidst the blood, cocaine, and Botox soaked tapestry of Los Angeles, the members of Batwings Catwings hail from all over the US and converge upon the wasteland of Southern California to give those who are willing a reason to shake and sweat.

Batwings Catwings is fronted by the tiny, yet fierce dance commander Dana Poblete, an everygirl with the ability to entrance audiences from Los Angeles to the hell mouths of Mexico's border towns with her frenetic energy and deceptively powerful howl. Backing her is guitarist Ray Santillan, a master of the squelch who wields his axe and sequencers with the devastating accuracy. On the drums is L.A. blogger Clay Johnson, who cut his teeth drumming for about every metal band on the northern Midwest's arctic front. Josh Crampton rounds out the lineup on bass, diversifying the sound even further with his smoothness and shoegaze influences.

After their successful first EP "Peacock Collection" from earlier in 2011 and a bangin official showcase at SXSW they are primed for another release October 24, 2011 on Gravy Records out of the UK. It will be their first 7", which is named "Radio". They recorded again at L.A.'s hot spot Infrasonic Studios (No Age, Best Coast, Fools Gold, Abe Vigoda, Wavves) by Eric Nordhauser and Pete Lyman. With a tinge of sarcasm, they are self-proclaimed as "modernist punk" – noisy as hell with a angle of pop and a nod to the punk rock roots of the L.A. underground bands they love so much.
Janelane
Janelane
21 year-old Sophie Negrini is the singer and songwriter of LA-based band, Janelane. Janelane’s contrasting blend of pop hooks and jangle-y guitars with profound, melancholy lyrics is heavily influenced by 70’s pop artists such as Todd Rundgren , Carole King ,and Big Star , as well as 90’s alternative rock like The Sundays , Dear Nora , and Pavement .

Peaches and Cream , Janelane’s first official EP, was released via Bandcamp and Cassette with Danger Collective Records in March of 2015. LA Weekly listed Janelane as one of “10 L.A. Artists to Watch in 2017”, describing Negrini as a “witty songwriter with a gift for ear worm melodies”, and a “precociously poised live performer”.

Janelane is currently recording their debut LP to be released in 2018.
