MADlab 2018: First Look Reading Series
A weekend event showcasing the work produced from MADlab, a unique 9-month program that focuses on the development of new plays from the idea up. Each year, Los Angeles playwrights are selected through a highly competitive submission process to work with dramaturgs, directors and actors to craft brand new plays, culminating in the First Look Reading Series.
Join us for staged readings, then stay for post-reading gatherings with food and drink.
First Look Readings Schedule:
For eight months the MADlab team at Moving Arts has worked with these four talented playwrights to help them create and curate a new play with the support and insight of dramaturges, actors, and directors. Now Moving Arts is proud to present the 5th Annual First Look Reading Series to a vital component of the new play making process: the audience. Over two days we will present these four very different, engaging, challenging, and bold new plays. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
All readings are presented free of charge as a service to the community, but reservations are requested and highly recommended.
