Created by Ai Yoshihara

How far would you go to meet your celebrity crush? What if he was dead? Ai wanted to move to America because she wanted to marry her crush, River Phoenix. Unfortunately he died before she even made it across the Pacific. However, Ai was determined to find her own River Phoenix. She convinced her strict Japanese father to allow her to move, and he made her promise three things: No religion, No gun, No drugs.

Created by Lynda La Rose

A young girl in Midtown L.A. ripening into a woman through various summers of her life told in the language of poetry/spoken word. She looks for love in family, her neighborhood, food, men, sexuality, the muse and apricots—can she find what she’s seeking or will it be a fruitless journey?

Ai Yoshihara
Ai was born in the small town of Niigata, Japan. As a child and teenager she was outspoken with a vivid imagination. But when she moved to America, Ai became very shy because she was not able to express herself well in English. To overcome her shyness, Ai started taking acting classes because all the words she needed to say were already written out for her. Soon, Ai grew to love performing on stage. She then decided to challenge herself even further by doing improvised comedy. Surrounded by fast-talking native English speakers, Ai was determined to be one of the few successful foreign nationals on the improv comedy scene. Recently Ai played a supporting role in Gus Van Sant’s film The Sea of Trees where she acted in a scene with Matthew McConaughey.
